CETINJE OLD ROYAL CAPITAL
CETINJE OLD ROYAL CAPITAL 34

Cetinje is the capital and historical cultural center of Montenegro. The blend of tradition and modern buildings makes this city unique. In Cetinje, you will find embassies and consulates of nearly all European countries, King Nikola's palace, monasteries, churches, two large parks, squares, the green market, and more. The very affordable prices in restaurants, compared to coastal cities, attract a large number of tourists. Additionally, a big advantage of this city over others is the availability of plenty of parking spaces. One thing that many visitors highlight when it comes to Cetinje is the cool mountain climate, which creates a pleasant atmosphere even on the hottest summer days.

Restaurants: KOLE, BELVEDER, KORZO, GRADSKA KAFANA.

Monastery: CETINJE MONASTERY.

Churches: CIPUR, VLASKA.

Just a ten-minute drive from Cetinje is the village of Njeguši, which is famous throughout Europe for producing PRSUT, one of Montenegro’s leading delicacies. We also recommend visiting the birthplace of Petar II Petrović Njegoš, a Montenegrin ruler, bishop, and writer, who is renowned for several books, the most famous being ‘GORSKI VIJENAC’ and ‘LUCA MIKROKOZMA’.

A visit to the LIPSKA CAVE, located a few kilometers from the city center, is an unavoidable two-hour trip. The cave opened a few years ago and has become one of Montenegro's main attractions.

Mount Lovćen, the River Crnojevića, and Lake Skadar are all part of the Cetinje municipality. We recommend setting aside special time to visit these places, which we will discuss more in future blog posts.
